I always had a thing for vampires : eternal life, undying love, blood lust, pure lust... acting out of instinct instead of reason... it is fascinating to me.
Some years ago, I devoured Anne Rice's novels - the witches chronicles also - and now it is the turn of Stephanie Meyer's books. I read the 4 of them in less than a week right after watching the movie. The books are just so much better, especially the last one - Breaking Dawn - where the main female character finally became an adult and had to take a lot of responsibilities to protect her loved ones. Yeah, the last book is definitely my favorite.
The thing with this kind of chronicles is that once you read all the book, you are just left with your own imagination. Which can be great, but on the long term you just need some fresh ideas to restart the fantasies. And that's when the Fan Fictions appear ! Fan writers use the characters but change the plot, the pairing, everything basically to just keep the fantasies alive. Some are very well-written, some are quite Out-Of-Character, some are very hardcore. But all of them just worship the characters and alternative universe Stephanie Meyer created !
I am following a few story, checking every week for an update, totally addicted to the story line. As you can see in the blogs I am following, the fanfictions I like are quite far from SM's original universe. But as a lot of Fanficters write : "We love mess up with SM characters!".
